I went to the Instyle Best Beauty Buys Award 2010 yesterday at the Berkeley Hotel. Had an amazing time but drank way to much champagne and have suffered a bit today. I did nominate products in each category and for Best Inexpensive Mascara my nomination Max factor Masterpiece took home the prize. You can read my motivation here.

The full list of winning products comes with march issue of InStyle Magazine.

Lovely pictures and hair.

Today I went to see the exhibition Beatles to Bowie at the National Portrait Gallery. Great exhibition that explores the leading pop music personalities who helped create "Swinging London" in the 1960's. Only bad thing was since it was the last day today it was pack with people. Not doing that for next time, which will be the Irving Penn Portraits exhibition that opens on February the 18th.

Just saw last nights episode of Jonathan Ross and thought Billie Piper looked great. Really liking the 70's Ossie Clarke dress and chunky jewelry and I want the HAIR! Gorgeous. Very the Olson twin's.

To avoid dry lips in winter time I drink a lot of water, it's essential! But here and now I can also share two off my favorite products at the moment.

First out is Australian Lucas Papaw Ointment, made of natural papaw tree ( Carica Papaya). Botanist T.P. Lucas stated after years of research in his 1906 handbook that the papaw was the finest antiseptic yet discovered.
It works on most things from dry skin, burned skin, mosquito bites and so one, sort off like Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream, but much better.

Second on is Vaseline with rose and almond oil. It does contain petroleum jelly, which in my "organic" books is bad. I did some reading from Wikipedia, which says..

"The raw material for petroleum jelly was discovered in 1859 in Titusville, Pennsylvania, United States, on some of the country's first oil rigs. Workers disliked the paraffin-like material forming on
rigs because it caused them to malfunction, but they used it on cuts and burns because it hastened healing."

I know some people claim it dries your skin out but I haven't use it that much and I like it, its a lovely smelling lip balm with a nice hint of color, and it is so much cheaper to buy than a similar product at Mac.

Just got home from a nice evening off cinema and treats by Lancome. Every year in January Lancome, who is the official beauty partner to the BAFTA's, invites make up artist to a preview off an up and coming film. This year they celebrated their 10th year working together with an exclusive private view of "Up in the air" starring George Clooney.

Really enjoyed the film, the limited edition "Juicy Tubes" designed by Yayoi Kusama and the chocolate from Hotel Chocolat.

I love these images! Found it on a very inspiring blog called Advanced Style which is about finding the most stylish and creative older people in New York city. Refreshing! These images is by lithuanian artist Arturas Valiauga. Amazing! Which I could shoot there!

Just want to say HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Had an amazing time yesterday!
My friend Emma took me to WAH on Kingsland Rd yesterday to do minx nails.
Amazing!! They heat up a metallic paper and then stick it on the nail, and it should last for 2 weeks. Next time I will go for silver ones.
